Repairing dented car body panels is a specialized technique aimed at restoring dented areas to their original condition damaging the original paint. Below are the basic steps for repair:
.Clean the dented area:The dented area of the car body needs to be thoroughly cleaned to ensure that the surface is free of dust and dirt.;
.Preheating adhesive:Use a glue gun to heat up the special adhesive, which usually takes about seven or eight minutes. The heated adhesive can better adhere to the recess areas;
.Select the appropriate shim:Select the appropriate shim based on the size of the recess. Larger recesses require larger shim to provide adequate traction;
.Apply glue and pull out the dent:Apply the preheated adhesive to the shim, quickly place it over the dented area, and gently press until the adhesive sets. Then, pull out the dented part with the traction tool until it is smooth;
.Clean and inspect:After the repair is completed, use alcohol to clean up the residual adhesive on the car body, and further clean it with a scraper. Check the effect to ensure that the dented area is flat and naturally transitions with the original car paint surface;
.Use a professional tool kit:We have some tool kits specifically for car dent repair. These kits are usually reasonably priced, easy to operate, and suitable for home DIY use;
.Points for attention:Not all dents can be fixed by DIY methods, especially those involving paint loss or metal deformation.
